White Water Rafting in the Great Smoky Mountains

The Great Smoky Mountains National Park and surrounding areas are an outdoorsman's dream with the beautiful mountains, wildlife, streams, rivers and all the surrounding activities.  One of the most exhilarating things to do in the Smokies is to go white water rafting on the Pigeon River in the shadows of the mountains.

The Great Smokies provide the perfect backdrop for an afternoon on the Pigeon River.  Create an unforgettable experience for your family by rafting through the obstacles of the Pigeon River.  The Upper Pigeon River is perfect for ages 8 and up and the Lower Pigeon River can be run by kids as young as 3 years old.  Expect to spend about 2.0 to 2.5 hours on the river depending on the river flow. You can find rafting trips as low as $30 per person which makes this one of the more affordable outdoor excursions in the Smokies.
